A few weeks ago, my friends were discussing what they were going to be for Halloween. I find it quite funny that every female obsesses over this issue every Halloween, yet the answer is obvious: as little as possible. I thought this holiday was supposed to be about indulgence and fulfilling fantasies of what or who you wanted to be. I guess I missed that memo when my fantasy was to be a drunken naughty nurse for the night.
Every year, Halloween costumes get racier and more risqué as loads of women pile into costumes shops to pick out which French maid or sexy pirate they wish to be. It really makes me wonder, is Halloween for grown-ups rather than kids?
It is as if once kids hit puberty, they are required to throw away their creativity and originality and “slutify” themselves. Imagination gets thrown to the wayside and Halloween becomes more about tricks than treats.
It’s a no-brainer. Today’s recipe for a Halloween costume is one pair of black fishnets, a bra and panty set, a few pounds of make-up, a cup of volumizer and a dash glitter. Immediately you get instant sexy (insert Disney character or profession here). (more…)
